IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN STATE AGENCIES:
As head of the Audit Division, the Secretary of State can audit any state agency and look for ways to improve performance and find ways to increase efficiency. Too often, however, audits are completed and simply sit on the shelf.
As our Secretary of State, Knute Buehler will make the position a leader in getting more out of our tax dollars. In addition to working to increase audits, he will see to it that the recommendations from those audits are actually implemented. This will make agencies more accountable to taxpayers, and free up tax money which can go to vital services like schools, law enforcement, and families in need.
