I like what you had to say about getting out of state money out of Oregon elections.
I’m a PERS retiree who along with SS has earned enough to live on as long as a big health problem doesn’t come along. A heart attack and a high stressed teaching position was my decision to retire earlier than I wanted. My PERS benefit is not the big monthly check that so many people like to quote when dissing the PERS system. I myself am appalled at the high amounts some PERS people are pulling in. I feel there should be a financial limit on how much a person’s monthly benefit can be. But those of us who have lower benefits should be left alone.
With that said, I’m interested in the “details” of your 6 point plan to reform PERS. What are they, why will they be effective and how will they be implemented?
